Here is a quick run down of a few events going on this week:
- Chandler-Gilbert Community College Performing Arts will present Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde in the CGCC Performing Arts Center on October 13th, 14th, and 15th, at 7:30 PM, and a matinee showing at 2:00 PM on October 15th. - "Arizona Regional Medical Center in Mesa is celebrating their 3 year anniversary by giving back! Saturday Oct. 15th from 9:30am-1:30-pm the community can enjoy a free pancake breakfast, music and a kid’s fun zone while making their way through the health fair or checking out the cars at the Classic Car Show, a Breast Assured fundraiser, being held in conjunction with the anniversary. This celebration is located at: 515 N. Mesa Dr. north of University on Mesa Dr. and will have bounce houses for children, spin art, firetrucks, ambulances and air evac for children to explore, and of course all the wonderful exhibits at the health fair. - Have you remembered your new trash pick up schedule? (Mine didn't change, but yours may have - click the link if you need to be reminded of your new schedule). Also, "Mesa residents looking for an environmentally responsible way to get rid of old computers, televisions, PDA phones, audio/video equipment, printers, appliances, etc. are invited to bring these items to the city’s appliance, computer and electronics express drop-off recycling event." From 8:00 AM to noon on Saturday, Oct. 15th, 2011, at the East Mesa Service Center, 6935 E. Decatur St. There is no cost to take advantage of this event, staff will be available to help unload items. - Now is the time to get your orders in for apples from the Fruit Lady. "On Thursday, October 27th, just a few days before Halloween, I will have crisp Utah apples and more yummy tomatoes. The fresh picked varieties are: Fuji, Jonathan, Rome, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious and Granny Smith. A bushel box (42 pounds) of apples is $28.00. The apples are picked right off the trees into a box. They are not waxed. Each bushel box contains one variety of apples. Beefsteak tomatoes arrive with the apples. A 24 pound box is $20.00."
