Kathryn posted about the local farmers market a while back but a couple of you have mentioned it, so it's about time we mention it again. Plus, we use to have it on our "Upcoming Events" and somehow it has disappeared. We'll fix that right now. Head down Center St. on Friday morning and you'll see the booths.
Year-Round, Every Friday from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
An outdoor event held in front of the Mesa Convention Center, on Center Street just south of University Drive
Technically the market is open until 1pm this Friday, May 28th, but summer hours (posted above) begin in June.
"The Farmer's Market features fresh produce from local growers, plus a variety handmade arts and crafts such as jewelry, wooden toys and wall hangings."
We have been several times. Typically there are two local farms that are there selling produce and several vendors selling crafts or other food items. You can expect to pay a little more for your produce than you would at a grocery store, but you do get what you pay for and the produce at the market is local-grown and either pesticide free or organic. If it fit into our schedule we'd go every week to get a few things, but we try to go as often as we can.
Enjoy,

We've gone a few times. The Italian guy selling bread is awesome! (So is his bread!) Some of the sellers are a little too pushy with getting you to stop at their booth, but he's just a nice Italian guy waiting to talk to you. :)
