Things to Do This Week In and Around Mesa, AZ

We hope you all had a great Halloween.  At our house I let the kids pig out on candy for a few days, and make sure they brush their teeth well afterwards.  I hope this way it disappears quickly and we're done with it soon!

Now we have just a few nice weeks of fall before it's officially holiday season.  Get out and enjoy something around town this week.  Maybe a hike, a trip to a new park, or one of these events:

PJs and Eggs
Breakfast restaurants around the state will be serving breakfast for dinner on Friday, November 4th.  Restaurant employees and guests are encouraged to wear their pajamas and each location will be collecting donations of pjs to go to children and teenagers in foster care.  The event begins at 5:00 PM and close times vary by location.  Part of the proceeds from food sales to benefit Arizona Children's Association foster care programs.

Dia de los Muertos Festival
Saturday, November 5th from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM in downtown Chandler.  Enjoy some rich Hispanic culture with live music and dancing, ethnic food and costumes, children's activities, arts and crafts for purchase, and more. Free.

Gilbert Fall Concert in the Park
Thursday, November 3rd from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.  Enjoy a free concert outdoors at Freestone Park in Gilbert.  This Thursdays concert is Desert Dixie, a country music duo.

Schnepf Farms Pumpkin and Chili Party continues for one more weekend, this Saturday and Sunday, and the Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival is going every day through November 12th.

First Fridays in Phoenix
Don't forget, there's always lots to do in Phoenix on the first Friday of the month.  Several art galleries are open for free admission and there are free shuttles to take you around to different areas of the event.  This includes free admission to the Japanese Friendship Garden, Adults Night Out at Science Centerfree admission to the Phoenix Children's museum and more.

Bring your family and friends to see "Aladdin"
Highland Arts Elementary will present the fall drama production, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 and 3 in Stapley Junior High's auditorium, 3250 E. Hermosa Vista Drive. Everyone is welcome. Tickets are $2. Bring your family and friends for a terrific time.

Of course, every First Friday is also Motorcycles on Main in downtown Mesa.  6:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Also, tomorrow is Free Day at Joe's Farm Grill in Gilbert.  That's a burger, fries, and a drink FREE for each person who is in line from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, this Wednesday, November 2nd.  Be prepared for a very long wait in line.  Thanks AZ Shopping Secrets for the reminder of this event.
