Fruit Lady, Rock the Wall, Take 25 Safety Expo in Mesa

I know this summer has been hit or miss on posting.  Historically, that is what has come to be expected here at I Heart Mesa.  First comes family, then Mesa.  But, like always we will be back in no time with regular daily postings.  We hope you continue to use our Summer Guide to fuel your summers and please join us on Facebook, where often we post quick event updates that don't make the blog.  Plus, we are always looking for more friends :)

{Isn't Arizona amazing?  I LOVE the diversity in our landscape.  Photo taken on our family vacation earlier in the month.}

Here are a few upcoming events we thought you might be interested in:

- Summer Fruit:  The Fruit Lady has let us know that the apricots needed another week to ripen.  So, if you want an 18 lb box of tree ripened Utah apricots for $22, call 480-844-9953 or e-mail azfruitlady@yahoo.com.  Also available are pie cherries in bulk.  Your order must be placed by Saturday, July 22nd and then orders will be ready to be picked up Friday, July 29th after 9:00 AM at the North West corner of Brown Rd. and Val Vista Rd.

-Rock the Wall:  Climb the rock wall for free at the Red Mountain Multigenerational Center. This is from their Facebook page, "Want to climb FREE on the rock wall next week? In celebration of the 75th Anniversary for Parks/Rec, you can climb free any day next week if you call (480.644.4800) the day before to reserve a spot. Only the first 15 people who call will be allowed to climb FREE OF CHARGE! Offer is good July 25-29, 10a-1p only!"  So, if you want to climb on Wednesday for free, be one of the first 15 to call or show up in person on Tuesday.

-Free TAKE 25 Child Safety Expo:  This one has been forwarded to us by a few of you, including my mom.  We thought we would post it now so you can add it to your plans next weekend*.  On Saturday, July 30th, head down to the L.A. Fitness at 445 N. Stapley (University and Stapley) in Mesa from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. "This is a national program that promotes taking 25 minutes out of your day to teach your children about safety.  Those wishing to partake in the Child ID portion (fingerprinting, DNA, voice recognition, photo) need to be in line no later than 1:30 p.m. There will be free food, educational opportunities and plenty of fun, so bring the family and join us!"  This expo is hosted by the Mesa Police Department.

*How soon do you like us to tell you about events?  We don't want to be too early and you might forget.  But, if we are too late, you already have plans.  Please give us your opinion.  Thanks.

-Kathryn

Usually around 5-7 days before is good for me. That way I can change my plans if I want to.

I agree. Week-of is optimal.

I think about a week too. I'm not good at remembering, but I still like to plan things.
