Wake-Up Wednesday

Today I thought I would share a few things that may not require you to be the most physically fit, but still get you out, moving, and enjoying our beautiful Arizona spring weather.

Did you know you could be a Forest Service Volunteer?  Well, this Saturday you can volunteer to help clean up the lower Salt River.

8:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Blue Point Recreation Site
Sign-in from 8:00 am - 9:00 am with FREE lunch for participants from 12:00 -1:00 pm
(Lunch, compliments of Salt River Tubing)

If you plan to attend, need directions or want more information on becoming a regular Forest Service Volunteer, please sign up here.

Thanks Macey for keeping us in mind and passing on this information.

Geocaching

One activity we have found to be fun and free is Geocaching.  There are several locations right here in Mesa. Go here to find hidden locations near you. Just remember, keep it a secret and have fun leaving a note or a memento behind.  Our signature token is one of those cheap plastic gem rings.  My girls can't get enough of them so it fits us well.

RC Car Racing

Every Saturday at 11:00 am (time changes to 5:00 pm during the hot months of May - October)
located at the Fry's parking lot of Baseline and Greenfield:  3751 E Baseline Rd
Come test your remote control car skills against other racers.

Don't forget about these upcoming races:

Great Urban Race - Saturday, March 12, 2011.  "A wild urban adventure. Teams solve twelve clues and complete exciting mental and physical challenges while discovering the city in a fresh way!"  Basically, this sounds like getting to participate in the Amazing Race without having to be on T.V.  Awesome!  Go here to register for the race held in Phoenix.

Pat Tillman Run - Saturday, April 16, 2011.  Come run/walk 4.2 miles around ASU's campus in memory of Tillman's #42.  Register here.

Warrior Dash - Saturday, April 30th, 2011 3.5 miles of mud, hay, sand, logs, fire....and many other obstacles.   Go here to read our original post.
