Out and About for This Week

Get out and enjoy this beautiful weather.  Here are a few events going on in the Phoenix area this week:

Heard Museum Indian Fair and Market
March 5th-6th 9:30am to 5pm

Enjoy American Indian music, dance, and art.  Located at the Heard Museum in Phoenix.  Go here for more information.

Scottsdale Celebration of Fine Art
Now through March 27th in north Scottsdale you can meet over 100 artists and view their work.  Tickets are $8 per person, but you can print out a 2-for-1 coupon here.  For more information, including a map, go here.

First Fridays in Phoenix
The first Friday of every month you can head down to Phoenix for a free tour of art gallery after art gallery.  Free admission to Phoenix Art Gallery, "Adults Only" night at the AZ Science Center, and the Children's Museum of Phoenix.  Go here for maps of locations open.  There are three different routes you can tour for free by shuttle bus and by foot.  How do I say this?  The east route (in yellow) attracts an edgier crowd, so if you're not down for fishnets and spikes and body piercings check out one of the other two routes.  Go here for more info.

Check out a performance by the Phoenix Symphony
Go here for showtimes

Tours for Life
On Sunday, March 6th nine unique luxury valley homes will be open for tour.  Tickets are $75 and proceeds benefit the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS.  Go here or here for more information.

Maricopa County Home and Garden Show
Located in Glendale this weekend, March 3rd-6th.  Go here for more info and discounts on admission.

I heard on NPR today that they need volunteers to clean the Salt River-if you sign up to volunteer, you get a FREE lunch too.

That sounds like a great activity--thanks for the head's up. I found the website, we'll try posting about it in the next couple of days: http://www.mrdvolunteers.org/riverbankcleanup.html
