Fun and Family: Kid-Friendly Things to Do In and Around Mesa

Check out these fun things to do in and around Mesa for the week of January 31st through February 6th.

Just for Kids - Little Desert Explorers at Usery Mountain Regional Park
3939 N. Usery Pass Road in Mesa
Thursday, February 3 at 10:00 AM
Cost: $6 per vehicle
Kids 3-6 take a 1-mile hike with their parents or caregiver to learn about the desert. The trail is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Bring water and a hat. Meet at Area 6.  A ranger at the park entrance can guide you to the right spot.  Info here.

First Saturdays for Families at the ASU Art Museum
Saturday, Feb 5th from 11:00 AM to 3:00PM
ASU Art Museum

Southeast corner of 10th Street and Mill Ave in Tempe.
Children ages 4 to 12 and their parents are invited to participate in a family-fun creative project from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month. All supplies are provided by the ASU Art Museum.  Info from here.

Tuesday, February 1st through Friday February 4th at 7pm;
Saturday, February 5th at 2pm

Three for Free
The first Sunday of the month, enjoy free admission to three Mesa museums: Arizona Museum for Youth, Arizona Museum of Natural History, and the Mesa Arts Centers Contemporary Arts Galleries.  Also, enjoy a free outdoor concert at the MAC.  This month it's Pete Pancrazi playing classic jazz from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Go here or here for more information.

Obert Skye, author of the Leven Thumps series will be signing copies of his books Pillage and Choke Tuesday, Feb 1st at 6pm at Barnes and Noble.  Northwest corner of Baseline and Val Vista.
