Superstition Farms Giveaway

We would like to congratulate Julie Herbert!  You just won $20 in Waldo's gift certificates.  Enjoy your BBQ. (winner chosen via random.org)

Now, we would like to announce our next Favorite Things Giveaway:

One of my favorite things about Mesa is that we live in the city but we still have that taste of rural within our city limits.  I grew up thinking that one day I was going to live on a farm here.  Well, it hasn't happened yet (although I like to pretend my 8 citrus trees constitute a 'citrus farm') but that doesn't keep me from enjoying Mesa's rural areas.

Superstition Farms is one such area.  Superstition Farms has worked hard over the years to keep that rural feeling and is dedicated to showing others what a working family farm looks like.  The Stechnijs, the family behind Superstition Farms, are Mesa natives and have lived here for generations.  They have deep roots here and love this city of ours.  Because of that, they were gracious enough to host a giveaway.

Today, we are giving away 4 tickets to Superstition Farm's Moo-ey Christmas.  This includes a great holiday atmosphere with music, a tractor pulled hayride (decorated with Christmas lights), feed to feed the farm animals in the Animal Expo, a S'more packet to roast over a bonfire, "snow", a haystack to climb and Santa! (Santa arrives at 6:00 PM each night)

I know we like to enjoy more family friendly activities this time of year and heading out to Moo-ey Christmas seems like just the fit.  They've been getting rave reviews and attendees love the old fashioned fun.

Even if you don't win, you should definitely check out Moo-ey Christmas at Superstition Farms.  All these fabulous activities for only $5!  This event runs from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM on
Friday, December 10th and Saturday, December 11th
Friday, December 17th and Saturday, December 18th

While there, you might also want to eat breakfast for dinner at their Udder Delights store or check out the MOO-ey Marketplace.  Go here for more details.

Also, if you are looking for more unique local gift giving opportunities, check out these one of a kind gifts offered at Superstition Farms:

Join the Superstition Farms Dairy Food Club.  On the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, they will put together pre-ordered packages of:

- Home-made Ice Cream
- Udder creamy Butter
- Farmer's Cheese from our cow's milk
- Farm-fresh gallon of Milk
- Mystery item-something made from a local chef, artisan, foodie, small business owner or a local farmer.

How is that for buying local?  Go here to see about prices and how to join.

Give the gift of horse riding lessons.  "These aren't your ordinary get-out-of-the-car-and-get-on kind of classes - at Superstition Farm, lessons are taught by a real cowgirl who encourages a bond between horse and rider."  Student will learn how to care for the horse in addition to riding.  Classes are offered for children ages 4 years all the way to adults.  Go here for more details.

To enter the Moo-ey Christmas Giveaway, we are keeping it simple again.  3 possible ways to enter:
- comment here
- comment on our Facebook post
- Tweet (please share with us the link)

Giveaway ends Wednesday at midnight, that way our winner has enough time to make plans.  And as always, please shop local this holiday season and if you love our site, share it!
