Visit a Park for Free on Veteran's Day and Special Freebies for Vets

Before we get into the freebies, I feel like I should express my love to all those who have served or are currently serving in our armed forces.
THANK YOU!  You are loved, you are appreciated and we honor you!
And so...
No fees on Veterans Day for county and national parks and forests

Even if you're not a vet, you can thank a veteran because on Thursday you can get free admission to any national park including the Grand Canyon, Casa Grande or any other national park in Arizona as well as national forests like Tonto.  Or, enjoy free admission to county parks like Usery Park and go for a hike in this beautiful weather.  There are a couple of events at Usery Park that day too such as birdwalking or Little Desert Explorers for kids.

Vets can also bring their military ID cards to the following locations and get discounts or free items on Veteran's Day:

Matta's Grill and Cantina (the location at Riverview)
Free 2 item combo meal.

Select menu items are free.  Go here for more info and here for the menu of free items.

Actually, we'll stop there.  Because typing all these freebies up could wear a girl out.  Besides, plenty of others have already done the work.

Check Wallet Pop, or Cents'Able Shoppin' to name just two.

For other stuff to do on Veteran's Day, check out Kathryn's post here.

My family is going to enjoy the parade in Mesa, remembering what our vets have done and then we will hike the Wind Cave Trail at Usery Park and appreciate the beauty of this country. Hope you have a great Veteran's Day yourselves!
