TODAY: Super-Fun Fundraiser for Officer Mark Kelly

Our Mesa Police Department works hard to keep us safe and well. They take care and protect us. And now we have an opportunity to help take care of one of them. This afternoon there’s a fundraiser for Mesa PD officer Mark Kelly, who has been diagnosed with Lou Gherig’s disease.  Mark and his wife Liz have five children under the age of 10.

I gathered a few details about this event after talking to Gary Butler, Mesa High counselor and coach, who is putting everything together. And it is going to be so much fun!!!

A Perfect Party Rental is providing some of the entertainment (8 bounce houses!), and there will be loads of other things going on as well: a raffle with too many goodies to list here, a field goal contest, food fare fit for a carnival king (think Indian Fry Bread, ice cream, cotton candy, pizza, popcorn… you get the idea), etc. It’s the perfect Friday afternoon fun family get-together, and it’s for a great cause. Here are the details:

What: Benefit Carnival TODAY
Time: 3:30pm – 6pm
Where: Mesa High School, 1630 East Southern Avenue, Mesa, 85204 (on Southern just West of Gilbert road)
Also: Food & donations accepted on behalf of the Kelly Family at the carnival, OR,
Donate on your own: Wells Fargo Bank, c/o Mark Kelly, Account #7963832436. You can also bring to the carnival whatever you can to support the family’s daily needs (toothpaste, toilet paper, canned goods, etc.)

For questions, call Gary Butler at (480) 472-5922 or email glbutler@mpsaz.org.

Thanks Kara for sending us the info and thanks Gary for the details!
