Fundraiser to Support Grieving Parents

It was 11 months ago to this day that I cried more than I've ever cried before.  December 4th, 2009 my sister didn't get to bring home her precious little girl from the hospital, born too early to survive.  Sadie lived for an hour and died in my sister's arms.

April 24th, 2006:  Camden

October 31st, 2008:  Thomas and Sheldon

February 12th, 2009: Eli

These are the stories and names that are personal to me.  The sweet infants of my friends and family that never got to come home from the hospital.

So tonight when I saw Becky's e-mail, I knew we needed to get this posted ASAP.  Here are Becky's words:

"I’m with a non-profit organization called Lanee’s Legacy. We make and donate bereavement boxes to Arizona hospitals who in turn give them to families who are experiencing the loss of an infant. We currently serve 18 hospitals.

We have our 2nd annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser coming up THIS Saturday, November 6th, 2010 at Red Mountain Park in Mesa from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. It is a family event where you just pay for your breakfast ticket which is $10 for adults and $5 for kids (just pay for your first 3 kids) and the rest of the event is FREE! The Mesa Fire Department will be there, Jump and Shout Play Center will be providing inflatables, Arizona Game and Fish Department will have reptiles/birds, face painters, balloon artists and more. . .

We also have a silent auction featuring 20 “themed” silent auction packages that are worth hundreds of dollars but bidding starts at just $50.00. There will be a raffle as well where tickets are just $1.00 each or 6 for $5.

All of this supports a great cause! All donations go directly back into the making of the boxes and supporting grieving families right here in our community."

If you would like to check out their blog, go here.   Please support this wonderful cause.

I can't make it on Saturday, but I didn't feel right reading and not saying anything. I'm so sorry for your loss, and your sister's. This really is a great cause.
