SWAP

Swap.

Didn't I tell you I would be back to answer questions?

Save the date for November 6th.  Wake up early and put on your best tweed.  Come down to the historic Mesa Frasier Fields neighborhood and get swapping.

A swap is essentially where you bring a few old items from your house that you no longer use and swap (trade) them.   If you bring 3 items, you swap 3 items.  Bring 12 and swap 12.  All items are up for an even trade.   So please leave that large mouthed singing Billy Bass at home and bring items of good trading quality (a working lamp, a rug, home decor, dishes... check out suggestions of what to bring and what to leave at home here.)

All you need to do to participate is to register and pay a simple $10 fee here (scroll down until you see the "Buy Now" button).  This fee covers a catered breakfast (YUM) and the cost of organizing an event such as this.

Just know that I don't really own any tweed or wool or anything too Amelia Earhart-ish. (My wardrobe is pretty plain-Jane.)  But I do own a sheet with a hounds tooth pattern that I got at the thrift store.  I plan to turn it into a simple skirt.  And I'm sure I can use my creativity to pull a few other accessories together.  Just please don't tell everyone else there that I'm wearing a sheet :)

So see you there on Saturday, November 6th.  Preview starts at 8:30 AM.  Swapping at 9:00 AM.  I'll be the one wearing a sheet :)

(And please say hi if you see me and Marily there.  I've been doing this weird stare at people thing lately where if I go somewhere we have written about here at I Heart Mesa, I stare at those that seem a little familiar to try and figure out if I know them as a follower of I Heart Mesa.  I think I made a lady at the Utah fruit sales feel awkward.  Sorry.)

P.S.  I wish I could lay claim to thinking of such a brilliant idea as a community SWAP, but all credit goes to Jeni of Peppertowne.  Remember her from her guest post on wonderful farmer's market watermelon?
