Events and Classes at the Riparian Institute

Last year my son, four years old at the time, took a class called Little Nature Explorers at the Riparian Institute in Gilbert (Guadalupe and Greenfield.)  The class is outside and the kids get the chance to wander around on trails around the lake and talk with instructors about plants and animals.  I especially loved that the teachers told parents their kids would get dirty. 

There are other events at the Riparian Institute too, some for adults, some for kids, some for the whole family.  On Saturday, August 28th for example, you can meet at 7am for a dragonfly and butterfly walk.  Some events require registration, and others like the dragon and butterfly walk just require you to show up.  Some have a set, modest fee while others suggest a donation of a few dollars. 

What I like about these classes is that there are some that are a several week commitment and others that are a one-day class you can take for a few dollars.
