Surely you've heard of the world famous Barrett-Jackson car show that comes to Scottsdale each year. But did you ever think about attending? The 2009 show opens Sunday, January 11th and goes until the 18th. There are different events scheduled throughout the week. But on the opening day, Sunday, it is Family Day. The schedule of events that day is as follows:



8:00am – 5:00pm Gates Open
10:00am – 5:00pm Kid’s Zone Hours (Located just west of Tent 3, on the Polo Field
Noon Tire Safety hosted by Discount Tire Co. Located in the Car Staging Lanes
Noon - 2:00pm Radio Disney Live Radio Remote & Activities. Location TBD
1:00 pm Kid’s Fashion Show hosted by The Garage. Located in The Garage Tent
1:00 pm FREE PIZZA: Provided by California Pizza Kitchen. Located near the Garage Patio; Kids under 12 get a slice of free pizza.
2:00 pm How to Wash a Car hosted by Mother’s Wax & Polishes. Hands-on activity for kids and adults, all ages welcome. Located in the Car Staging Lanes
3:00 pm Robosaurus Demonstration. Located on the Ford Drift Track



Adult tickets are $12 and if you go to their website, you can see the events scheduled for the rest of the week. The address of the event is 16601 N. Pima Rd. in Scottsdale, 85260.



I've been to a few car shows myself and I've found them enjoyable and somewhat fascinating. They don't just have a bunch of cars sitting in a room. There are cars (old, new and futuristic), vendors and opportunities to learn neat facts.
