Zoo Lights

"When the sun goes down and the animals go to sleep, the Phoenix Zoo transforms into one of the largest holiday lighting events in the southwest with 2.5 million lights and more than 400 light sculptures from small stars to life size giraffe, elephants and orangutans."

It's time for Zoo Lights!

Zoo lights start Thanksgiving night, November 27th and run until January 11th, 2009, staying open every night, including holidays.

Zoo lights run each night from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Tickets range in cost from $6 (for groups of 50 or more) to $9. Make sure to use your Fry's VIP card to get a dollar off. Members are $7 and children 2 and under are FREE. Tickets can be purchased online.

According to the Phoenix Zoo, "The least crowded nights to attend are Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday the first two weeks of December and the first week of January. Weekend attendance increases the 2nd weekend of December. Many people come at 6 p.m., so an alternative would be to arrive around 7:30 or 8 p.m. after the first wave of visitors have left."

***In addition, the website stated that member nights are November 24th, 25th and 26th. I am not a member of the Phoenix Zoo, but does this mean you get to view the lights for no additional charge than what you already paid for your membership? I couldn't find any info on their website, but it's worth a call if you are a member.
