$50 in Arizona Giveaway

Remember our $50 in Arizona giveaway?  It's back!  (You can go ahead and do your little fist pump now.)

Our last winner, Coralee, used the $50 towards a fabulous anniversary trip with her husband to nothern Arizona. They started out with bowling and a movie in Prescott, then stopped at Montezuma's Castle and Tuzigoot National Monument, ate at the Javelina Cantina in Sedona, stayed in Cottonwood, and then enjoyed a drive through Oak Creek Canyon to see the first snowfall of the year.  They loved and recommended everything they did and I'm sure they won't mind if you copy their itinerary for your next quick getaway.  (We know the $50 didn't pay for all of that fun, but we were glad to help.)

To enter, you must leave a comment on this post or on Facebook telling us how you would spend the $50 in Arizona AND how you are spreading the word of I Heart Mesa.  Get creative because our winner will be chosen from whoever comes up with the best idea(s) for spending the $50 and the best way(s) of spreading the heart of I Heart Mesa.  (Just please no face tattoos of our I Heart Mesa logo.  That might be awkward.)

The winner will receive a $50 check from us and is required to submit a few pictures that are okay for posting of how the $50 was spent.

Giveaway ends next Monday, January 30th at midnight.  Winner announced next Tuesday.

Thank you Coralee for the beautiful pictures and for thinking of such a fun getaway!  Wishing you many more years of happiness in your marriage.

We'd use it as gas money to drive around and take pretty Arizona pictures. Aaron LOVES landscape photography and it's something we've been meaning to do but just haven't gotten around to it. There are so many gorgeous spots within a couple hours of us!

I'd probably blow it all on books at Bookmans.

Or drive to Bisbee and take photos of weird stuff. I've never been but it looks like a wacky southwest town. Those are the best kind.

We'd use the money towards a skiing trip in Flag! I've lived in AZ for 7 years and have never been skiing in Flagstaff. It's something I've always wanted to do, but we just haven't been able to plan for it. I would spread the heart of I heart Mesa by adding a button to my blog (www.SuperstitionVintage.com) and doing a blog post of my trip to Flagstaff. Thanks for offering this giveaway!
xx Adrian

I'd spend the $50 eating at new places in downtown Mesa. There are lots of cute restaurants but I tend to stick with my faves.

And I spread the word about I Heart Mesa by wearing my IHM t-shirt and have a button on my blog!

I would spend the $50 on supporting my local small businesses. I would have breakfast at the Breakfast Spot, stroll around the thrift shops in Phoenix, park the ride the Light Rail to Tempe Mill Ave. We would get some gelato and walk around Mill Ave. NWe would hop back on the Light Rail and continue on to another destination (whatever struck our fancy..something new and different that we haven't seen before) and the end back in Phoenix where our car was parked. There is so much to do right here in Phoenix and the immediately surrounding areas we wouldn't need to go very far. Taking the Light Rail decreases our carbon footprint and gives my toddler a different experience than riding in a car. Supporting our local economy and small businesses just exemplifies the support and love we have for our home town.

I spread the word about I Heart Mesa by subscribing and liking you on Facebook. When I go to an event recommended by I Heart Mesa, I always tell the vendor that I heard the listing from I Heart Mesa when asked.

I would use the money to supplement the date night fund. We would get tickets to the Straight No Chaser concert at the MAC in March. What better way to show Mesa the love than by voting with our dollars! (I'd also use it to pay a Mesa-resident babysitter:)

I'm here with my husband with his work for a couple months and have loved getting ideas to do from your blog. I would look through your blog & look for some fun ways to explore Mesa somemore and spend the money right here in Mesa. But first, I'd buy a cute I Heart Mesa tshirt! I'm going to "like" you on fb.

I would use the money by filling up the tank and driving through southern Arizona. I think when we want to get out of the city most people head north, but Southern Az has a unique beauty of its own, beauty I have yet to "discover" because most of the time I just drive through it. I hope you can help me with this ;)

I would use the $50 for my daughter's 5th birthday. She realllly wants to see "Pinkalicious" at the Broadway Palm children's dinner theater. It would be so fun for my husband and I to be able to get a sitter and take her out and make a special "daughter date" out of it. We might even stop for some pink ice cream from Nielson's frozen custard afterwards. How fun would that be?

My girls and I spread the heart of I Heart Mesa by making and sticking little notes around. They said, "Looking for something fun to do? Check out iheartmesa.blogspot.com! And have a HAPPY day!" We had fun finding creative places to hide them like... inside some books at the library, in the dispenser of a vending machine and photo booth, and taped to a park bench. :)

Awesome-I would love to hike the Grand Canyon...I have been a few times but never actually hiked it, and I hear some hikes have really yummy food you can enjoy.

I would use $50 to buy a 10-visit pass to Arizona Museum for Youth in Downtown Mesa. I have two little ones, and I know they would love it!

I spread the word by buying "Somebody in Mesa Loves Me" T-shirts for my three sisters who live in Flagstaff, Utah, and Georgia. My sister Allison loved hers so much that she checked out the Web site and bought diving lady shirts for herself and for a friend. It has started a chain reaction! :o)

I think we would use the money to go antique shopping in Globe or Payson.

I would use it for gas and a picnic lunch to tour some of the national parks here in Arizona. We've been to several already and my children are participating in the Junior Ranger program. It would be so fun to learn more about our beautiful state and add more pins and patches to their collection.
I spread the word about I heart Mesa by telling everyone about it. Whenever someone is looking for ideas for fun, I direct them to your site. Its great for visitors and especially for those of us who live here. LOVE it!!

I would use the money to take my daughters (ages 7 and 5) to the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix. I just recently heard about this fairly new museum and I think it would be a great way for me to show them that music really is a universal language.

When I first moved to Mesa from out of state in 2009, I was referred to your blog. I thought I hit the jack pot with all the information you provided about this great town. I live in a very transient neighborhood, and every person that I meet that is new to Mesa, I pass along this website address.

Thanks for this great resource. I heart Mesa!

I am a true Arizona native born and have lived here for 35 years. I have been to the Grand Canyon once. My husband has never been and either have my 3 kids. I would do a road trip for a few days and use the money to pay for park admission to the Grand Canyon. My oldest is 7 and he is into the outdoors and has been asking questons about the Grand Canyon. From there we would use the rest of the money to see Meteor Crater.

I have your link on my blog and I do tell people about your website. If I won the trip I would buy the "I Heart Mesa T-shirt" and wear it on trip. I'm a talker so I can easily strike up a conversation and I would let them know that I won a contest and that is how I got to see the Grand Canyon and Meteor Crater.
