Wake-Up Wednesday: Payson Mountain High Games

Wind Caves trail at Usery Park

Wake up and get outside!  The weather is unseasonably beautiful.  I think my family will be eating outside today to enjoy the last of this nice weather before the heat comes back.

Once summer comes in all its force we are all more limited in finding things to do--pretty much only water activities are acceptable outdoor activities for the next few months.  So, I am putting together a super list of free or cheap activities to do around town during the summer and would love your help.  It will include storytimes at libraries and bookstores, splash pads, store-sponsored activities, etc.  Can you help?  Do you know of a place that offers something fun?  The list will include things for kids and also things for adults to do.  To share, just leave a comment or send me an email at iheartmesa@gmail.com.  With a little help we can come up with a great resource that we all can use.

And just when it starts to get hot, maybe a trip up north for Payson's Mountain High Games will be just the thing to cool you down.  From their website:
The Payson Arizona Mountain High Games is the Southwest’s largest celebration of adventure sports combined with ATV trail rides, and a massive outdoor expo.  Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the cool mountain temperatures while competing in or watching this thrilling event.

Dates:  June 3-5, 2011
Times:  See each event for specific times
Admission:  $5 Per Car Load
Place:   Payson Event Center
There are fees if you want to participate in the activities such as an ATV rodeo and trail rides, mountain bike races, and much more.  Or just go and watch.  The $5 admission is waved for participants.  Go here for more information.
Have a good one,
