This is a pretty complete list of farmers markets in the East Valley, Arizona. I would be happy for some correction if you know of a farmers market that is not on this list. I have tried not to include those that close for the summer and I've grouped them by days of the week. Be aware, not all of these farmers markets have websites, so hopefully this is all up-to-date. Get out to a new market and support local folks!
Sunday
Sundays from 9am to 1pm at the Ahwatukee Community Swim Center
4700 E. Warner, Phoenix (just west of 48th St. behind Blockbuster)Includes produce, food products, information booths, and crafts.

Trilogy at Power Ranch Farmers Market
Tuesdays from 9:00am to 11:30am
Produce, breads, gluten free products, and dog treats. Put on by Green Bee Produce.
Thursday
SuperFarm Market
Thursdays from 4:30 to 7:30pm
Indoor farmers market on a farm. In addition to local produce, eggs, etc, there will be hay rides, a petting zoo, horse riding, and other activities.

Downtown Chandler Farmers Market
Thursdays from 3 pm to 7 pm at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park
Local, organic produce and other food and craft items.
Live music the second and fourth market of each month.
Friday
Mesa Farmers Market
Friday 9 am to 12pm at the Rendezvous Green, 263 N. Center St. in Mesa
Every 2nd and 4th Friday look for the Shine Bus at the south end of the market for cooking demonstrations, nutritional & fitness nformation, kids activities, and more.
Saturday
Saturday from 8:30am to 12:30pm at McClintock Fountains, 1840 E. Warner Rd in Tempe
Summer hours are 7:00am to 11am (I don't know when the times change)Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market
8:30am to 1pm on Saturdays in downtown Scottsdale, E. 1st St. and N. Brown Ave

Gilbert Farmers Market
Saturday 9am to 1pm at 222 N. Ash St. in Gilbert (next to the water tower in downtown Gilbert)
On May 7th summer hours will begin: 7:00am to 11:00am

Queen Creek Farmers Market
Second Saturday Mornings through July (May 14 and June 11 from 8am til noon, and July 9th from 7am til 11am)

I have got to get myself down to this place. Locally grown produce in an air-conditioned store. But there's more. They carry lots of other local foods like bread, dairy, vegan/vegetarian products and even meats. It's more like a little grocery store that carries only local products. Sounds awesome, right?

In addition, the MacDonald Street Farmers Market that is in conjunction with MAC Fest will be going on one last time before summer and the Fountain Hills Farmers Market is open on Thursday, the last time before summer. ASU's Farmers Market will hopefully be running again in the fall.
Shift Arizona suggests an easy way to start buying local if you're not use to it or if you're on a budget. Just start with 10% of your food budget--spend 10% of what you already spend on food locally and you can feel good about where your money is going.
