This week's Wake-up Wednesday pick is: El Tour De Mesa
Formerly El Tour de Phoenix, this race is finally named after our great city, the city where the race begins and ends. On April 2nd, 2011, choose to ride your bike 72 miles or 26 miles around Mesa and the valley and raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Take in our beautiful scenery on a bike. Or maybe if you are just looking for some fun and not a race, participate in the El Tour Fun Ride which is a 4 mile or 1/4 mile course for bikes, trikes, or tandems, etc. (nothing motorized though). The fun rides are geared towards family fun - baby on up. To register, go here. To read a great article on the director and how he has been participating in this since 1990, go here. (Just don't be like the person who is complaining about possible traffic delays, that probably won't even be there....)

Also, don't forget about these upcoming running races:
Pat Tillman Run - Saturday, April 16, 2011. Come run/walk 4.2 miles around ASU's campus in memory of Tillman's #42. Register here.

But the responses to the grumpy comment on the AZ Central article are great. :) ~Marily
