For those of you that may not have the opportunity to join in on all the Veteran’s Day celebrations tomorrow, don’t worry – you don’t have to miss all of it. The Commemorative Air Force Arizona Wing Aviation Museum is hosting it’s Veteran’s Day celebration – the “Gathering of Legends” – this Saturday, Nov. 13 at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa from 10am to 3pm. (2017 N. Greenfield Road • Mesa, Arizona 85215) Ceremonies begin at 11am.
Said to be the largest gathering of military aviators in the southwestern United States, this event will feature Col. Roger Parrish, USAF (Ret.), as the keynote speaker, as well as approximately 40 veteran military aviators sharing their experiences from WWII to present.
“The significance of the ‘Gathering of Legends’ is that the public may meet and speak with these veterans and get their first-hand accounts of what they have done, and are still doing, to preserve our legacy of freedom.” says Museum Director Larry Turner.
