Do you know which cities around the world are "Sister Cities" to Mesa, Arizona? Currently there are five: Caraz, Peru; Guaymas, Mexico; Burnaby, Canada; Kaiping, China and Upper Hutt, New Zealand. The organization that maintains these relationships is, appropriately, Mesa Sister Cities. This weekend Mesa Sister Cities is hosting a free cultural concert:
The Colors of Peace
Featuring music and dance from Ireland, China, Latin America and the United States
Friday, September 10th at 7pm
Ikeda Theater, Mesa Arts Center
The annual concert is part of the Mesa Arts Center’s free season kickoff party from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. featuring new gallery exhibitions, performances in the theaters by the Founding Resident Companies, live outdoor entertainment and live artist demonstrations.
Artists performing at the concert include, Guitarras Latinas, Light Entertainment, Bracken School of Irish Dance, MC6, Chinese Arts Academy, Main Event Swing Band and Brenda Smith Salsa Dancers.
