Saturday Spotlight gives you an idea for some last-minute fun on Saturday or any other day. We will spotlight a different place to visit in Mesa or its surrounding neighborhoods.
Let's take a second to truly appreciate the great public swimming pools we have here in Mesa. Actually, I think the city prefers the term "Aquatic Centers"--at least to explain the majority of them that include extra features like zero-depth entry pools with slides and kid-friendly play areas. And it's a really great bargain for a fun summer activity. There are six aquatic centers in Mesa. Admission is $3.50 for adults (18+) and $1.75 for kids 17 and under. Babies 6 months and under are free.
Carson: Located near Alma School and University. Open Mon-Fri 1pm-7pm; Sat 11am-6pm; closed Sun
Kino: Located near Stapley and Brown. Open Mon-Fri 1-7pm; Sat 11am-6pm; closed Sun
Rhodes: Located near Alma School and the 60 freeway. Open Mon-Fri 1-7pm; Sat 11am-6pm; Sun 1pm-5pm. The Flowrider at Rhodes is open additional hours: Mon, Tues, Wed 7-9pm and Fri and Sat 10am-12pm
Shepherd: Located near Higley and Brown. Open Mon-Fri 1pm-7pm; Sat 10am-6pm; closed Sun
Stapley: Located near Val Vista and McKellips. Open Mon-Fri 1pm-7pm; Sat 10am-6pm; closed Sun
To finish the list of Mesa pools we have these two which offer swimming at an even cheaper price since they don't have the fancy waterslides and such. Admission is only $1 for kids and $2 for adults.
Taylor: Located near Broadway and Lindsey. Open Mon-Fri 1pm-5pm; Sat 11am-6pm; closed Sun
Fremont: Located on Power, south of Brown. Open Mon-Fri 1pm-7pm; Sat 11am-6pm; closed Sun
There are other discounts available, like season passes and punch passes. For more information, including actual addresses, go here. To see a map of these pools, go here.
