Summer Activities at Mesa Libraries

Entertainment for children and adults at Mesa Libraries throughout June. 
Tuesday, June 1
Ronald McDonald shows off his magic tricks and love of reading
Main Library from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Children and adults of all ages are welcome to attend.

Thursday, June 3
Taiko Drummers
Live demonstration of the art of drumming. Enjoy the Japanese rhythm, movement, language and team work of this amazing group
Mountain Library from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
All ages are welcomed.

The Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium will make a visit to all three libraries. Their program features “Wonders of the Water.” Kids and adults will learn and meet some of the aquatic and semi-aquatic animals.

Main Library on Tuesday, June 8 from 1p.m. to 2 p.m.

Red Mountain Library on Thursday, June 24 from 1p.m. to 2 p.m. 

Dobson Ranch Library on Wednesday, June 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.


Monday, June 7
“Babysitting Basics for Teens”

Teens ages 12 to 16 can learn basic babysitting skills through  from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Main Library. This class will not cover CPR or First Aid skills. Registration is required. Please call (480) 644-4089 to secure your spot.

Wednesday, June 9
Great Arizona Puppet Theater will perform “Rapunzel”
Dobson Ranch Library from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30a.m.  Join puppeteers as they capture and entertain the audience with this
classic fairy tale. All ages are welcomed.

Wednesday, June 16
Craig Davis Comedy Magic and Juggling Show
Main Library from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
This comedy and magic show will delight children and adults of all ages. It’s highly entertaining and audience participation is required!


Saturday, June 26
Eclipse Celebration
All three branches of the Mesa Libraries. Children 12 and older can celebrate the third theatrical installment of the Twilight Saga. The event includes creating and entering a personalize Twilight T-shirts for a free copy of Eclipse, testing your knowledge in Twilight Trivia for free movie passes, and enter a raffle for a book purse made from the Eclipse hardback. Participantsare encouraged to dress like your favorite Twilight characters.

The Eclipse Celebration begins at 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Snacks will be provided.

All events and programs are free. The Main Library is located at 64 E. First Street.
Dobson Ranch Library is located at 2425 S. Dobson Road.
The Red Mountain Library is located at 635 N. Power Road.

The Mesa Library also offers additional programs for preschool and toddlers.
