Take me out to the ballgame...It's that time of year again (although really, baseball seems like it's always in season.) As a fundraiser for their upcoming "Play Ball: The Cactus League Experience" exhibition, Mesa's Historical Museum is hosting Cactus League Night in Mesa.
Saturday, November 8th, 2008
Event starts at 5:00 pm with the game starting at 7:05 pm
at HoHoKam Park (right across from the Mesa cemetery)
1235 N. Center Street, Mesa 85201
Tickets are $20
and can be purchased over the phone by calling 480.835.7358 or simply register here.
"Catch a game featuring Major League Baseball’s future stars, have a hamburger or hot dog and learn a little about baseball history. The event includes a ticket to the 7:05 p.m. game between the Mesa Solar Sox and the Phoenix Desert Dogs of the Arizona Fall League. Meet Arizona Diamondbacks Organist Bobby Freeman, celebrate the 100th Anniversary of “Take me out to the ballgame,” watch vintage home movies from Cactus League games circa 1960 and bid on some great baseball memorabilia during a silent auction. Ryne Sandberg will be speaking, and Ron Davis, Bobby Knoop, Byrone Browne, Bob Lacy, Lou Klimchock, and others to total 10-15 players will be in attendance to chat and sign autographs."
