Because the Mesa kiddos are out of school for Fall Break, take them and do something a little extra special this weekend. Saturday and Sunday is the Annual Railfair at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale. They will have displays, exhibits and children's activities.
From the park's website:
"Saturday & Sunday October 11th & 12th, 10:00am to 5:00pm. Railfair will feature model train displays and exhibits, moonwalks and other entertainment from 10am-5pm each day. The park’s railroad exhibit featuring the Roald Amundsen Pullman car, a former presidential car, will be offering free tours. Many of the park’s seldom seen railroad equipment will also be on display. Admission to Railfair is FREE. Train rides are available for $2.00 each and carousel $1.00 each with children under three riding free with a paying adult."
The park is located at 7301 E. Indian Bend in Scottsdale. If you've never been, you should check it out. It's fun for kids, and probably everyone, no matter the age. I'm not going to lie, I loved my little train ride last time I visited the park!
If you don't get to go this weekend, be prepared to visit the park in December, as they have great Holiday festivities. But more on that later when our high temperature isn't 97*.
